Help yourself

by helping us today.

As-salaamu 'alaikum, Peace be with you:

Eid Mubarak! May God the Almighty accept your good deeds.

We are blessed to work for CAIR, and believe our community is fortunate to have such an organization. Can we ask you in the last days of Ramadan to help us continue our important service?

Even though much progress has been made, the current climate in our nation presents continuing challenges for American Muslims.

For the three of us, each an executive director of a different CAIR chapter, facing these challenges brings a deep sense of commitment to securing the rights of people like you.

You know that protecting civil rights is sometimes difficult. You know that increasing understanding of Islam and working with like-minded coalition partners to promote justice and mutual understanding is vital.

The need for such work was recently highlighted with the start of a massive nationwide campaign to distribute 28 million copies of the anti-Muslim film "Obsession."

Have no doubt, this movie is designed to turn your neighbors of other faiths against Islam and Muslims.

Its targeted distribution to states that will be key in the upcoming election, likely an attempt to influence votes, demanded a response.

We at CAIR take the issue of hate seriously. We acted quickly to develop a strong, national action plan. The benefit from this prompt response includes editorials, interfaith coalitions and a website all speaking out forcefully against this anti-Muslim bigotry.

We think this is what makes America great: fair-minded people rejecting this film’s message of hate.

In addition, CAIR staff is working hard at the local level to ensure that members of the American Muslim community are registered to vote and that your voice will be heard on November 4.

Being on the front lines of confronting the challenges American Muslims face, we all feel tremendous reward in the very real and positive impact our work has on people just like you and your family.

The staff at our 35 offices nationwide is dedicated to protecting the rights of people who simply want go about their lives but who find themselves sadly subjected to hate because of their faith.

With the help of God and with your support and participation, we can meet and overcome the challenges facing our community.

In these last hours of the blessed month of Ramadan, we hope you will consider how the work of CAIR helps you, your family, your neighbors and the people with whom you worship.

We pray that, as you consider this service, you will also take a moment right now and donate generously so that when someone faces discrimination, CAIR will be there to help them.

Have a happy Eid!

Sincerely,

P.S. Your generous donation is tax deductible and CAIR is eligible for Zakat.
