(WASHINGTON, D.C., 11/5/12) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) -- the nation's largest Muslim and Arab-American civil rights organizations -- are mobilizing voters through a get-out-the-vote (GOTV) campaign that includes a national call tonight recorded by comedian and CNN contributor Dean Obeidallah.

CAIR is asking all Americans who value civil liberties to urge their senators to remove all problematic language in the latest National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that justifies the indefinite military detention within the United States, without charge or trial, of those suspected of terrorism.

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 10/12/12) -- CAIR today unveiled an advertising campaign designed to counter anti-Muslim "savage" advertisements sponsored by a designated hate group that are now on display in Washington, D.C., metro stations.

(Washington, D.C., 10/17/2012) -- An anti-hate coalition of 127 organizations is asking all people of conscience to contact the Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority (WMATA) and ask that it help mitigate the negative impact of anti-Muslim advertisements now on display in DC-area metro stations. The ads strongly suggest that Arab or Muslim opponents of Israel's policies are "savages." They are sponsored by the American Freedom Defense Initiative, a designated hate-group led by Pamela Geller.

URGE SENATORS TO OPPOSE IRAQ TROOP ESCALATION

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 1/29/2007) - CAIR is asking members of the American Muslim community and other people of conscience to urge their senators to support a resolution (Senate Concurrent Resolution 2) in the U.S. Senate opposing an escalation in our nation's military involvement in Iraq. Debate on this and other Iraq resolutions is expected on the Senate floor this week.

The non-binding resolution, introduced by Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Joseph Biden, also expresses the sense of Congress that "greater regional and international support would assist the Iraqis in achieving a political solution and national reconciliation" and "the United States should transfer, under an appropriately expedited timeline, responsibility for internal security and halting sectarian violence in Iraq to the government of Iraq and Iraqi security forces."

This past weekend tens of thousands of anti-war protestors rallied in Washington, D.C.
