CAIR-MI: Muslim Files Bias Suit Against Medical Center

(SOUTHFIELD, MI, 3/4/08) - On Wednesday, March 5, the Michigan chapter of the Council on
American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) will announce the filing of a lawsuit against the
Detroit Medical Center (DMC) by a Muslim employee who was allegedly subjected to
religious and ethnic harassment and unlawfully terminated.
The former employee, who alleges being the target of anti-Muslim and anti-Arab slurs, is
suing DMC for violating the Elliot-Larsen Civil Rights Act and the Whistler-Blowers'
Protection Act.
