(WASHINGTON, D.C., 8/24/18) -- On Monday, August 28, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will join the New York Immigration Coalition, and other civil liberties and immigrant rights activists in front of the White House to demand justice for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Temporary Protection Status (TPS) recipients. Rally participants will also call on President Trump to rescind his discriminatory and unconstitutional “Muslim ban” in the lead up to the October 10 Supreme Court hearing on that issue.

Since August 15, immigrant and community leaders organized by National Korean American Service & Education Consortium (NAKASEC) and the Franciscan Action Network have been holding signs in front of the White House, 24-hours-a-day, to demand that President Trump protect the DACA and TPS programs. In total, the picketing effort will last 22 days, culminating on September 5, the deadline 10 anti-DACA state attorneys general gave President Trump to terminate the program.
