CAIR to Present CODEPINK with 'Community Organization of Year Award'

code-pink-logo(WASHINGTON, D.C., 9/9/14) -- On September 27, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will present CODEPINK, a women-initiated grassroots peace and social justice movement, with its "Community Organization of the Year" award during CAIR's 20th annual banquet at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Va.

CODEPINK works to "end U.S. funded wars and occupations, to challenge militarism globally, and to redirect our resources into health care, education, green jobs and other life-affirming activities."

With the theme "Rooted in Faith, Growing Through Service," the September 27th evening banquet will feature civil rights leader and MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton, as well as CAIR National Board Chair Roula Allouch and Reps. James Moran (D-VA) and Keith Ellison (D-MN).
