CAIR Alert: Call on Congress to Reject $6 Billion Arms Sale to Fuel Israel’s Gaza Genocide

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on Congress to reject the Trump administration plans to sell some $6 billion in weapons to Israel, which would directly fuel its ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

That sale reportedly includes $3.8 billion for attack helicopters, which would almost double Israel’s current inventory, and $1.9 billion for 3,200 infantry assault vehicles that are used daily to carry out the genocide.

TAKE ACTION: Call on Congress to Reject Arms for Genocide

In a statement, CAIR Government Affairs Director Robert McCaw said:

“Approving this $6 billion weapons sale is tantamount to Congress signing off on genocide. These weapons will not protect civilians or bring peace—they will kill more children, level more hospitals, and deepen the moral stain of U.S. complicity in Israel’s war crimes. Every member of Congress must decide whether they will stand with international law and human rights—or with those who supply the machinery of mass murder.

“The American people do not want their tax dollars funding the indiscriminate slaughter of Palestinian women and children. It is unconscionable for the United States to provide weapons that will be used to commit atrocities while humanitarian aid is deliberately blocked, refugee camps are bombed, and Gaza lies in ruins.”

Yesterday, CAIR said new recognition of the state of Palestine by Western nations must come with “concrete action” against Israel’s occupation and genocide.

Last week, CAIR called Israel’s daily slaughter of men, women and children in Gaza – with U.S. support – a “mark of shame” as the official, significantly-undercounted death toll passed 65,000.

A secret Israeli intelligence database shows that least 83 percent of Palestinians slaughtered in Gaza were civilians – not combatants. Even former Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi acknowledged that more than 200,000 Palestinians have been killed or injured since the start of Israel’s Gaza genocide.

Also last week, CAIR said Israel’s genocide in Gaza is “undeniable” after release of a UN commission’s report on Israeli war crimes found that they constitute a genocide.

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
