The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on President Trump to stand up to indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu and reject the far-right Israeli leader’s “predictable attempts” to sabotage a Gaza ceasefire and an end to Israel’s genocide
In a statement, CAIR National Deputy Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell said:
“We support key elements of President Trump’s reported proposal to end Israel’s genocide in Gaza, including a permanent end to the genocide in Gaza, the release of remaining Israeli hostages and thousands of Palestinian hostages, a surge in humanitarian aid coordinated by established agencies like the United Nations, and the reconstruction of Gaza under the supervision of a technocratic Palestinian government.
“When President Trump meets with Benjamin Netanyahu today, he should reject the Israeli prime minister’s predictable attempts to sabotage the permanent ceasefire proposal with poison pills. Netanyahu does not want to stop his genocidal war. He wants to stay in power and fulfill his fantasy of permanently subjugating the Palestinian people. Today is the day that President Trump should finally tell Netanyahu, ‘Enough is enough.’”
