The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on members of Congress to demand the U.S. take action to force Israel to reopen all humanitarian aid access points in Gaza after they were shut down.
Israel has closed all crossings into Gaza and halted humanitarian aid deliveries until further notice. According to The Times of Israel, the measures include the closure of all crossings into Gaza, including the Kerem Shalom and Rafah crossings. The move comes following Iranian retaliation against the Israeli military for their continued attacks on Lebanon in spite of ceasefire negotiations with the United States.

Six Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip on Monday, according to local reports, including an 8-year-old child. Five were reported killed in four separate strikes since morning, while another individual died of wounds sustained in an attack in Khan Younis last week. The death toll since the cease-fire began in October has reportedly risen to 970.
In a statement, CAIR said:
“Once again, Israel is committing egregious crimes against civilians by denying them desperately needed humanitarian aid. Israel is actively undermining ceasefire negotiations with Iran and remains hellbent on expanding and continuing their onslaught of death and destruction across the region. Members of Congress must speak up and call on the administration to force Israel to reopen the humanitarian crossings in Gaza and stop their massacres of civilians.”
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
