(WASHINGTON, D.C., 11/8/19) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today released the latest “CAIR Snapshots” video highlighting a quarter century of “defending, educating and empowering the American Muslim community.”

Today’s final #CAIRSnapshots features how in 2019, CAIR announced a landmark legal victory for Bahia Amawi, a Texas speech language pathologist who lost her job because she refused to sign a "No Boycott of Israel" clause. A federal judge issued an opinion striking down H.B. 89, the Texas Anti-BDS Act, as facially unconstitutional. CAIR is actively challenging similar measures around the country, including in Arizona and Maryland.
Earlier this year CAIR released a groundbreaking report, "Hijacked by Hate: American Philanthropy and the Islamophobia Network," listing the philanthropic foundations that were used by anonymous special interest donors to funnel almost $125 million to anti-Muslim hate groups between 2014 and 2016.
Also in 2019, CAIR announced "complete victory" in a constitutional challenge to federal watchlist after a federal court judge rules that the government has unconstitutionally failed to provide watchlisted persons with notice and an opportunity for individuals to challenge their status.
