(DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TX, 4/21/14) — More than 250 people turned out on Saturday for the North Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ (CAIR-North Texas) 17th annual banquet in Richardson.
Attendees at the sold-out event heard from British political journalist and television anchor Mehdi Hasan. Hasan, who is the host of “The Cafe” on Al Jazeera English, and from CAIR Greater Los Angeles-Area Executive Director Hussam Ayloush.
“We would like to thank all the staff, volunteers, speakers and attendees who made this year’s banquet such a success,” said CAIR-North Texas Executive Director Alia Salem.
CAIR is the nation’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
