(SANTA CLARA, CA, 10/25/16) -- The California chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-CA) today condemned hate vandalism targeting a Spanish immersion school in Winsor, Calif.
Vandals spray-painted hate messages all over the Cali Calmecac Language Academy, including "Trump 2016, build the wall higher," an apparent reference to GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s call for a border wall with Mexico. The majority of students at the school are Latino.
“We condemn this hate vandalism and the type of bigoted political rhetoric that inevitably leads to such acts,” said CAIR San Francisco Bay Area Executive Director Zahra Billoo.
CAIR-CA is a chapter of CAIR, America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
La misión de CAIR es mejorar la comprensión del Islam, fomentar el diálogo, proteger las libertades civiles, capacitar a los musulmanes estadounidenses, y construir coaliciones que promuevan la justicia y la comprensión mutua.
