CAIR Calls for Probe of Arkansas Principal’s Alleged Islamophobic Post

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 3/28/19) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called for an investigation of an Arkansas high school principal who allegedly shared an anti-Muslim image on his Facebook page.

According to complaints brought to CAIR’s attention by concerned Arkansas Muslims, the principal shared an image to his Facebook page that read, “Kick Islam out of America. . .You can’t walk with God holding hands with the devil.” The original post was created by a Facebook page titled “America dying.”

[NOTE: CAIR has the name of the principal who allegedly shared the Islamophobic post but is not making it public until school officials conduct an investigation to verify the allegation.]

“The promotion of such bigoted and Islamophobic rhetoric indicates an outlook that is inconsistent with meeting the needs of a diverse student population,” said CAIR-Oklahoma Executive Director Adam Soltani. “We call on the appropriate school district administrators to investigate this matter and to take appropriate action.”

Last year, CAIR called on the Arkansas legislature to censure a state senator who appeared to question the right of American Muslim to participate in the political process.
