(BALTIMORE, MD, 10/8/19) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today condemned stickers with the emblem of a white nationalist group, Patriot Front, discovered on the campus of Towson University in Baltimore County.
Patriot Front, which was formed after the deadly white supremacist attacks in Charlottesville, Va., has been described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a white nationalist hate group that "rehabilitated the explicitly fascist agenda of Vanguard America with garish patriotism.”
Recently, CAIR’s Georgia chapter denounced an anti-Semitic incident where members of that hate group plastered disturbing signs at a local synagogue in Columbus.
“Public institutions of higher learning must be safe spaces that promote diversity and inclusivity rather than divisiveness and hate,” said CAIR Director of Maryland Outreach Zainab Chaudry. “Because October is bullying prevention month in Maryland and across the nation, CAIR is urging campus administrators to use this disturbing incident as a teaching moment to demonstrate that any action that risks threatening, intimidating or compromising the safety and well-being of fellow students will not be tolerated.”

The civil rights organization, who was alerted to the stickers by Muslim students on campus, has reported an uptick in complaints about bullying of Muslim youth in recent years, particularly since the 2016 presidential election.
CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
