(DALLAS, TEXAS, 7/15/15) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations’ North Texas chapter (CAIR-DFW) held their first-ever community partners iftar (Ramadan fast-breaking) dinner last night in Richardson, Texas.
In attendance were representatives of various community organizations, elected officials, law enforcement officers, and community leaders.
The evening's program included a Quran recitation and translation, an explanation of Ramadan and an update on CAIR's civil rights and community-based work.
CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
