CAIR-CA: COUNTY SET TO HONOR PEOPLE, GROUPS THAT SERVE COMMUNITY
Sixteen people and organizations will be recognized Friday for their contributions in meeting human needs and protecting civil rights in Santa Clara County.
The county’s Office of Human Relations will host its 35th annual awards breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Wyndham Hotel, 1350 N. First St. in San Jose. University of California-Berkeley Professor Ron Takaki, a noted scholar on multiculturalism, will be the keynote speaker. . .
Organizations being recognized include the South Bay Mobilization for Peace and Justice, the Indian Health Center of Santa Clara Valley, the San Jose Immigrant Rights Coalition, the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Los Altos High School Gay-Straight Alliance.
