CAIR, Islamic Society of Baltimore, Muslim Community Groups to Host Conversation on Restorative Justice

(BALTIMORE, MD, 8/29/2019) – On Friday, Sept. 6, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB), and other community organizations will partner to host a discussion on restorative justice and community healing. The event will be held at the Islamic Society of Baltimore, and features special guest speaker CAIR-Michigan Executive Director Dawud Walid.

WHAT: Reclaiming the Prophetic Model of Sacred Activism: A Conversation on Restorative Justice and Community Healing

Sponsoring organizations include ISB, Masjid Ihsan, Baltimore County Muslim Council, Muslim Community Cultural Center of Baltimore, Muslim Social Services Agency, Citywide Youth Development, Maryum Islamic Center, Masjid Fatima, ICNA Council for Social Justice, and more. 

Preceeding the event, a delegation of leaders will hold a closed-door round table meeting in Baltimore City to identify specific challenges facing Muslim communities in the state, explore viable solutions and
action items, and discuss ways to improve infra-faith unity and cohesion.
