(LOS ANGELES, CA, 8/29/2019) – On Saturday, Aug. 31, the Greater Los Angeles Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA) will join an inter-faith coalition of civil rights activists and allies at a protest in West Los Angeles in opposition to the Indian government's renewed oppression of Kashmir, a Muslim-majority region of India.
The protest is co-sponsored by CAIR-LA, the ICNA Council for Social Justice, the Muslim American Society Public Affairs & Civil Engagement Committee (MAS PACE) and other allies and organizations.
Protesters will call on elected officials to stand against India's occupation of Kashmir, demand the immediate restoration of mobile and landlines in the region and call for an end to the curfew and for the complete demilitarization of the region.
