(FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, 11/11/19)- On Tuesday, November 12, The Michigan chapter of Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) will hold a press conference to announce the filing of a Michigan Department of Civil Rights Complaint on behalf of a Muslim student against Henry Ford Community College for the lack of action taken against a professor who subjected the student to an Islamophobic rant in front of other students.
A Muslim honor roll student was publicly accused by his professor of supporting terrorism because of his Lebanese Muslim heritage, and was made to defend his identity as an American citizen while other students looked on. The professor made comments about Arab-Americans living in Dearborn being radicalized and on the government watch list and further threatened to call law enforcement on the student because he was Lebanese.
