(MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 11/12/19) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, and its Minnesota chapter (CAIR-Minnesota) today called on state and federal law enforcement authorities to investigate a possible bias motive for an attack Sunday on a Minneapolis mosque.

“Given the rise in anti-Muslim, anti-immigrant and white supremacist rhetoric and hate incidents in Minnesota and nationwide, we urge law enforcement authorities to investigate a possible bias motive for this attack,” said CAIR-Minnesota Executive Director Jaylani Hussein.
Hussein added that just last week, CAIR-Minnesota called for a hate crime investigation of an alleged bias-motivated attack targeting a Muslim DoorDash driver in Excelsior, Minn.

He noted that earlier this year, two men pleaded guilty in federal court to bombing a Minnesota mosque.
