WHEN: Wednesday, May 30, 12-2 p.m.

WHERE: One Gateway Center, 1 Gateway Center, Newark, NJ

CONTACT: CAIR-NJ Executive Director James Sues, 908-668-5900, jsues@cair.com

The coalition will deliver a letter to each of the senators to call on them to condemn Israel’s actions in shooting civilians.

Several senators and members of Congress have spoken out against the killing of unarmed citizens of Gaza by Israeli soldiers. As the largest recipient of American military aid, Israel should be subject to the laws prohibiting the commission of such human rights abuses by those countries receiving such aid. Fourteen senators, led by Senator Bernie Sanders, signed a letter calling for sanctions.

CAIR-NJ will join the following coalition partners in calling on New Jersey’s senators to end their silence on the Gaza killings:

  • Jewish Voice for Peace of Northern NJ
  • Jewish Voice for Peace of Central Jersey
  • Palestinian American Community Center
  • American Muslims for Palestine
  • Amos Caley, associate pastor, Reformed Church of Highland Park
  • Seth Kaper-Dale, pastor, Reformed Church of Highland Park
  • Veterans For Peace Chapter 021 (Northern NJ)
