After spending more than a year getting to know one another, visiting each other’s houses of worship and learning about each other’s religion, 12 teenagers will tell the UN about their experience and about how interfaith cooperation can move the world forward in a positive way and help “End the Chains of Hate” in these troubling times.

Inspired by the United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week, the goal of the teens has been to learn about one another's religious traditions, to stand firmly against violence and to advocate for social justice.

“In the end, their real success has been forging deep friendships with each other and developing mutual respect and understanding of each other’s faiths,” said Sahar Alsahlani, UNITE program coordinator and CAIR-NY board member. “The world needs more future leaders like these young people.”

CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
