CAIR-NY Condemns Anti-Semitic Vandalism at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park

(NEW YORK, NY, 05/27/19) -- The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the anti-Semitic vandalism discovered on Saturday at Prospect Park.

On Saturday afternoon, a pedestrian in the park discovered a Nazi swastika and the words “No Jews” spray painted beneath a bridge overpass in the center of the park.  The incident is being investigated by the NYPD as a potential hate crime.

“Sadly, anti-Semitism continues to be a growing threat to our Jewish neighbors and to our nation.” said CAIR-NY Litigation Director Ahmed Mohamed.  “New Yorkers of all faiths must unite to denounce and tackle the hateful ideology that produces these vile acts. Hate has no place in our city, and we hope the individual responsible is brought to justice.”

Earlier this month, CAIR-NY condemned a hate attack on a Jewish, Hasidic man in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
