(COLUMBUS, OH, 7/13/18) -- The Ohio office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Ohio) today welcome the removal of offensive shirts, one of which appeared to suggest shooting Arabic-speakers by Sports Possessions Inc., a sports memorabilia retailer in that state.
One of the shirts included text in English and Arabic stating, “STAY BACK 100 METERS OR YOU WILL BE SHOT.” This morning, CAIR posted an “Islamophobia Watch” item about the shirts.

In a statement on Facebook, Sports Possessions Inc. said:
“Recently we were advised that a small percent of our t-shirts may have been offensive to certain individuals. This was not our intention and we apologize to anyone who may have been offended. Those shirts have been removed from our inventory.”
“We welcome the swift removal of the offensive shirts in response to the concerns expressed by those who reject the potential incitement of violence targeting minority communities,” said CAIR-Ohio Legal Director Romin Iqbal.
Earlier today, CAIR’s New York chapter condemned a recent act of anti-Muslim harassment on a NYC bus.
