(PITTSBURGH, PA, 8/1/2014) -- The Pittsburgh office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Pittsburgh) has launched a letter-writing campaign to put the Muslim community's views on the situation in Gaza before Pennsylvania Senators Robert Casey and Patrick Toomey.
The letters were gathered at events during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan across the Pittsburgh area. Several hundred have been signed thus far.
CAIR chapters across the country have launched similar letter-writing campaigns, including ones in California, Maryland and Texas.
CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil rights organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
