(BALTIMORE, MD, 6/28/19) - The Maryland Office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), today released its ‘Know Your Rights During Encounters With Law Enforcement’ guide and offered free trainings in response to reports that the U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has stepped up its activity in the state.

Earlier this week, CAIR condemned reports of ICE arrests in Howard County. Numerous eyewitness accounts indicated agents in black ICE t-shirts were stopping vehicles and checking ID’s. In one case, up to eight or nine people were reportedly taken into custody.
