WHY: In June 2017, the Supreme Court upheld the racist and Islamophobic ban on refugee, Muslim, and immigrant communities. The Supreme Court has been wrong in the past, as seen in cases like Dred Scott to Korematsu. With the Executive branch as the architect of the Muslim Ban, the Legislative branch has an opportunity to reverse the damage caused by the Trump Administration and the Supreme Court. Congress can directly impact the lives of our communities. We as communities and allies call on our representatives to do the right thing -repeal and defund the Muslim Ban.

Last November saw the election of women, immigrants, refugees, people of color, queer, trans people in record numbers to the United States Congress. These historic victories were driven by the efforts of marginalized communities. Now in office, it is time for Congress to stand with the most marginalized among us. From #AbolishICE to the Green New Deal, Congress must rise up and forward the most marginalized in their new agenda. It is time to

#RepealtheBan.
