CAIR to Hold Community Town Hall, ‘Know Your Rights’ Workshop in North Carolina

                   

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 8/29/2019) – On Friday, Sept. 6, and Saturday, Sept. 7, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will hold a community town hall and “Know Your Rights” workshop in North Carolina. Both events offer information about how community members can be involved in building a CAIR chapter in their local community.

At the community town hall, CAIR's National Executive Director Nihad Awad, National Litigation Director Lena Masri and National Research and Advocacy Director Dr. Abbas Barzegar will discuss CAIR's work to protect the civil liberties of all Americans, enhance understanding of Islam and challenge Islamophobia.

At the workshop, CAIR's National Litigation Director Lena Masri will discuss your rights at work, at school, when you encounter law enforcement and more. "Know Your Rights" materials in Arabic, Somali, Urdu, Farsi, Bengali, Bosnian and English will also be available.
