Schedule Type: Full-time, Exempt

Location: Office located in Anaheim, CA. Requires some travel throughout the Greater Los Angeles Area.

Development Manager – Pay Range: $70,000-$85,000 with 3-5 years of development experience

Associate Development Director – Pay Range: $85,000-$100,000 with 5+ years of development experience including experience overseeing grants

Responsible for overseeing the development functions of the organization including achieving the organization’s fundraising goals. They will work closely with the executive, operations, communications, and development team to implement fundraising and marketing strategies.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management in increasing overall revenue by implementing core fundraising strategies targeting individual donors, foundations, and corporations, resulting in sustainable year over year growth
  • Execute fundraising plans to meet 2022 $4 million fundraising goal; lead strategic initiatives including capitol projects and planned giving programs to increase organizational sustainability
  • Implement and grow a comprehensive donor stewardship program, focusing on Major Gifts donors, that involves building processes, a pipeline and stewardship practices for program fundraising including upgrade, downgrade, lapsed and new donors
  • Oversee strategic budgetary growth to meet the growing civil rights, immigration, policy, organizing, and youth development needs of the Muslim community in the Greater LA area
  • Oversee the grants management department and provide leadership and final sign off on grant and foundation applications
  • Establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with individual donors and foundations, as well as other key stakeholders that will result in funding for the immediate and long-term goals
  • Create and direct multi-channel fundraising initiatives through annual fundraising appeals, events, and campaigns
  • Grow and maintain monthly donor and corporate matching program
  • Work with staff and Board Development Committee to increase engagement in meeting fundraising initiatives
  • Utilize donor management tools in order to review and analyze and report on pertinent information and monitor financial and mission related results
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Development staff delivers new ideas and opportunities that align with organizational values while maintaining organizational brand management
  • Plan performance expectations, monitor and appraise the team’s job results and performance in order to develop, coach and recognize direct reports. Provide information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities in order to develop staff. Focus on the development of leadership skills and business acumen of direct reports.
  • Accountable for all department activities that support the organizational goals and objectives, ensuring that timelines, milestones, and deliverables are executed within budget

Other:

  • CAIR-CA requires a proof of COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment before the date of hire.
  • Full-time with occasional evenings and weekends required
  • Occasional travel locally for outreach including participating in community events
  • All CAIR staff are required to assist in general duties such as answering phones, weekly outreach, fundraising, and other office tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Business/Marketing or related field is preferred)
  • Minimum of 5-7 years professional fundraising experience, preferably in a social justice-oriented nonprofit
  • Proven experience in designing and managing development programs
  • Experience with developing and maintaining productive working relationships with board members, donors, volunteers, and program and administrative staff
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines
  • Must have strong initiative and demonstrate the ability to learn in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as a leader and as part of a team
