Office Administrator

Position: Office Administrator, Part-time (24 hours a week in office) 

Location: Atlanta, Georgia; In-office   

Reports to: Executive Director

About CAIR Georgia:  

CAIR-Georgia is the Georgia chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest civil liberties and advocacy group serving the Muslim community. Our mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, protect civil liberties, and empower Muslims in America to advocate for themselves. From restrictions placed on Muslims to practice their religion, to profiling and discrimination stemming from a lack of understanding of Islam, the need for CAIR in Georgia is great. The proof is reflected in the dramatic increase in civil rights cases by 250% from 2007 to 2013. CAIR-Georgia strives to ensure that Muslims in Georgia enjoy the same protections that all Americans have. 

The Opportunity

CAIR-Georgia seeks an organized and committed professional to support and enhance the running of the CAIR-Georgia offices and assist with the functions of the Executive Director and upper management. The Office Administrator should have an appreciation and understanding of non-profit and advocacy work. This individual should be highly organized, detail oriented, and work well in a team-oriented professional setting.  


  • Support the Executive Director and upper management in managing files, agendas, travel plans and appointments 
  • Manage phone calls and correspondence with outside vendors  
  • Keep track of invoices and payments to vendors and service providers; 
  • Complete purchase of and ensure on-time delivery of office supplies;  
  • File requests for maintenance and cleaning, and follow up on fulfillment;  
  • Check mail and distribute to appropriate staff members; assist chapter directors and department directors with administrative tasks; answer phones, direct calls, and greet visitors;  
  • Maintain directory of internal and external contacts 
  • Assist in maintaining an orderly, clean, and professional office 


  • Undergraduate degree or similar 
  • Highly motivated and self-starting 
  • Strong multitasking skills and adaptable to fast-paced work environment 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills   
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with colleagues, community advocates, and community-based organizations  
  • Experience in administrative roles in non-profit spaces 
  • Experience in maintaining electronic databases and filing systems preferred
