A monthlong drive to restock the shelves of the Food Bank of Delaware is starting on Sunday at the Masjid Ibrahim (Mosque of Abraham) in Newark. The drive runs until July 15.
The organization aids a growing number of Delawareans struggling to pay for food and rising energy costs.
Jamil Tourk, a mosque leader, hopes the drive will raise awareness of the need to help. He also hopes other groups, Muslim and non-Muslim, will start drives.
The mosque, which also is contributing $1,000 to the food bank, is open every day. Food will be collected in the older section of the building. (MORE)
