Hate Will Not Fight Itself

As-salaamu alaykum (peace be to you).

Since the deadly attacks on the Boston Marathon, CAIR staffers nationwide have been working on your behalf to challenge those who seek to promote their Islamophobic agendas by blaming all Muslims for the perpetrators' sadism.

Rightly so, CAIR came out strongly with a condemnation of the bombings and issued a call for prayers and blood donations. We also asked anyone with eyewitness information to contact law enforcement authorities.

When the suspects were identified as Muslims, CAIR coordinated a Washington, D.C., news conference [covered by most major television networks] with other national organizations to seek unity in the face of the attempts to divide our nation along religious lines.

Showing unity, CAIR representatives have taken part in a number of interfaith events to support the bombing victims and their loved ones.

We also challenged extremist media commentators who exploited the tragedy to make inflammatory allegations against all Muslims and Islam.

Yesterday, we showed you concrete examples of inflammatory anti-Muslim rhetoric currently circulating.

We are monitoring Islamophobic websites which are promoting every anti-Muslim conspiracy theory in the book. From past experience, you know this will make its way onto irresponsible media outlets.

Violent extremists want Americans to turn on each other. Targeting people at a sporting event is designed to make us afraid.

We cannot let them succeed. We must be vocal against hate to keep our nation unified.

CAIR needs your immediate support to continue challenging the hate. We need to raise $150K by Friday in order to ensure a continued strong and consistent response to hatred and scapegoating.

Please donate to CAIR today.

Please consider giving $5,000, $2,500, $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50 or whatever you can.

If you donated in the past, please consider doubling that donation.
