IA: Christian Prayer Didn't Bother Muslims

In his Feb. 20 letter to the editor, Bill Horine asks "Are Muslims tolerant of Christian ideals?" It is my experience that Muslims are tolerant of them.

The English-as-a-second-language class at my church had a potluck dinner several weeks ago. I explained to our Muslim students that it is our tradition to precede dinner with a prayer. I asked them if they would be offended.

They told me that it would not be a problem at all. The prayer was offered, and we enjoyed an excellent multicultural dinner.
