(WASHINGTON, D.C., 10/6/15) – A representative of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today joined other Muslim organizations at a meeting with State Department officials to discuss the need to allow more Syrian refugees into the United States and to challenge aggressive Israeli actions targeting the Al Aqsa mosque compound, one of the holiest sites in Islam.
The meeting was coordinated by American Muslims for Palestine (AMP).
CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
