600 Turn Out for CAIR-NJ Banquet

(PRINCETON, NJ, 3/24/08) – Almost 600 people turned out Saturday for the New Jersey chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations’ (CAIR-NJ) annual banquet at the Pines Manor in Edison, N.J.
Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN) addressed the crowd as the keynote speaker. The evening also featured a performance by Dean Obeidallah, a Muslim comedian from the “Axis of Evil” tour.
CAIR, America’s largest Islamic civil liberties group, has 35 offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
