“With so much at stake in this election, one of the goals of this non-partisan forum is to provide an opportunity for Maryland Muslims to ask questions and hear directly from candidates running for Governor, Attorney General and Comptroller on how their policies may shape and impact diverse communities in our state,” said CAIR’s Maryland director Zainab Chaudry.

“The Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB) is proud to partner with CAIR and UMMC to host such an important event,” said ISB Councilmember Saad Malik. “The hope is that forums such as these strengthen relationships between Maryland’s elected leaders and their Muslim constituents.”

“With each election cycle, UMMC has been successful in getting our community engaged in the mainstream political process which is so vital for our voices to be heard in the power corridors,” said UMMC President Dr. Shahid Rafiq. “This year, once again, we welcome and urge all community members to join us to make this event successful and come prepared with your questions for the candidates.”

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
