CAIR Action Alert: DMV Muslims Invited to Attend September 12 Democratic Debate Watch Party, Poll at Virginia Mosque

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 9/3/19) — On September 12, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim Association of Virginia (MAV) will host a watch party for the third Democratic presidential debate. A poll of participants will be taken following the debate.

The third Democratic presidential debate will feature 10 candidates and take place one-night instead of 20 candidates over two-nights like the previous two debates.

Candidates that met debate qualifications for inclusion based on popular support include:

  • Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr.
  • New Jersey Senator Cory Booker
  • Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Ind.
  • Former Housing Secretary Julián Castro
  • California Senator Kamala Harris
  • Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar
  • Former Texas Representative Beto O’Rourke
  • Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders
  • Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren
  • Entrepreneur Andrew Yang

Dar Al Noor’s Isha (night) prayer will be announced at 8:41 p.m. and take place at 9:15 p.m., for those who wish to pray at the mosque.
