(WASHINGTON, D.C., 9/23/2019) – Join national leader and activist Linda Sarsour at CAIR’s 25th anniversary gala on Saturday, November 9, at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C. [Other featured speakers include special guest Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), State Representative Movita Johnson-Harrell (D) and political commentator Dean Obeidallah.]

With the theme “Defending, Educating, and Empowering: Building the Next Generation of American Muslims,” the gala will celebrate CAIR’s 25 years of service to the community. [NOTE: Use #CAIRSnapshots on Twitter to view videos highlighting CAIR’s important work over the past quarter century.]

Linda Sarsour was called a “champion of change” by the Obama administration for her activism to fight for racial justice. She shatters stereotypes of Muslim women while also treasuring her religious and ethnic heritage. 

Sarsour co-founded the first Muslim online organizing platform, MPOWER Change and has been at the forefront of major civil rights campaigns including calling for an end to unwarranted surveillance of New York’s Muslim communities and ending police policies like “stop and frisk.”

She is a member of the Justice League NYC, a leading NYC force of activists, formerly incarcerated individuals, and artists working to reform the NYPD and the criminal justice system.

Individual tickets cost $75 before Oct. 1 and $85 thereafter. Childcare is $25 per child before Oct. 1 and $35 thereafter. Childcare registration is required for children under 13 years old.
