The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on Muslim community members and allies to support H.Res.942 and H. Con H.Res.99 introduced by Representative Ramirez, Delia C. [D-IL-3], and S.res.589 introduced by Senator Durbin, Richard J. [D-IL].
These resolutions honor the memory of Wadee Alfayoumi, a 6-year-old Palestinian boy who was brutally stabbed 26 times by an allegedly hate-driven perpetrator in Illinois. Wadee Alfayoumi’s alleged killer reportedly yelled during the brutal killing, “All Muslims should die.”
We must not let this fade into history. Act now to ensure that the story of Wadee Alfayoumi is remembered.
TAKE ACTION NOW: Ask Your Elected Representatives to Honor Murdered 6-Year-Old Palestinian Child Wadee Alfayoumi
The resolutions state:
(1) the United States lost the beautiful light of Wadee Alfayoumi because of hate;
(2) it is the duty of elected officials and media to tell the truth without dehumanizing rhetoric when informing the public of factual information;
(3) freedom of speech and peaceful protest are constitutionally protected and a fundamental cornerstone of democracy; and
(4) the United States has zero tolerance for hate crimes, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, and anti-Palestinian and anti-Arab discrimination.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations’ mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
