(MESA, AZ, 12/31/18) — The Arizona chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-AZ) today condemned a case of vandalism discovered Thursday evening at Temple Beth Sholom in Lake Havasu City.
The disturbing act of vandalism, in which a sign and lighting fixtures were destroyed were discovered on Monday. The incident is currently under investigation by police.
“We are continuing to see a disturbing rise in the level of hate targeting vulnerable communities in Arizona and across the country,” said CAIR-Arizona Executive Director Imraan Siddiqi. “We stand in solidarity with our Jewish neighbors and ask our elected officials to strengthen our state’s hate crime laws to ensure that all communities are protected.”
