Last Week, CAIR-Austin condemned UT Austin president Hartzell’s statement that sought to justify the unnecessary arrests and violence against peaceful student protesters, supported the university Faculty in their no-confidence vote in Hartzell, and asked for PSC reinstatement. A petition was circulated online asking for Hartzell to be removed from office.

CAIR-Austin Board Chair Fayyaz Shah said: “CAIR-Austin stands in solidarity with all peaceful protesters regardless of their cause and affiliation. We urge authorities and university leaders to protect the freedom of speech and the right to assemble and protest peacefully.”

CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.

La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
