(PHOENIX, AZ, 8/9/07) – The Arizona chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-AZ) recently hosted a two-day event designed to encourage volunteerism and help people network with social service organizations.
The event, which was held in a local mosque, drew representatives from a number of social service organizations, including COAR (Community Outreach and Advocacy of Refugees), Cultural Cup Food Bank, Al-Mu’minah, ISSA, TERROS, AMWA, Ebony House, Church of Beatitudes DOAR, The Friendly House, and Family Promise.
AMWA volunteers assembled 100 back-to-school packs to be distributed to the Refugee and Immigrant Relief Center and the Cultural Cup.
