(WASHINGTON D.C., 12/27/2021) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on President Biden to take immediate action against the planned doubling of illegal racially-segregated housing on land occupied by Israel in the Golan Heights. The indigenous population of the area is not permitted to live in the Israeli housing because of their race, religion and ethnicity.
In a statement, CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper said:
“Just as we should oppose racial segregation in housing in our own nation, we should not support such segregation when it’s perpetrated overseas by a government that receives billions of American taxpayer dollars each year. The Biden administration should speak out against the Israeli government’s escalating human rights abuses.”
