The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today called on members of Congress to speak out after vandalism targeting a Palestinian school for orphans by Israeli extremist Israeli Knesset member Zvi Sukkot.
Sukkot, Israel’s Knesset Education Committee head, stormed a Palestinian school for orphans in illegally-occupied East Jerusalem, smashing the school’s ceramic sign and vowing to shut it down over Palestinian symbols.
In a statement, CAIR said:
“This attack exemplifies the brutality of Israel’s apartheid policy toward the Palestinian people. Raiding and vandalizing a school for orphans and vowing to shut down Palestinian schools is a crime that must be condemned. We call on members of Congress to speak out against this act of racism.”
