CAIR-CAN TO SPEAK AT TORONTO ‘AFTER ARAR’ EVENT
(Ottawa, Canada Feb. 17, 2007) CAIR-CAN Board member and Vice-Chair, Faisal Kutty, will be a panelist at the February 21 event, “After Arar: A Workshop Series on Security Intelligence and Human Rights,” taking place at the Osgoode Hall Law School, York University.
The event is the second in a series of eight workshops that seek to critically examine the issues raised by the Arar Inquiry, and the larger problems related to security intelligence and human rights in the contemporary context. “After Arar” will be presented by the Nathanson Centre on Transnational Human Rights, Crime and Security at the Osgoode Hall Law School.
Other panelists include Inspector Wayne Hanniman of the RCMP Community Outreach Program and May Farrales from the B.C. Committee for Human Rights in the Philippines.
