CAIR Condemns Neo-Nazi Banner, Graffiti in Alabama

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 3/21/2023) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned the hanging of a neo-Nazi banner and graffiti in Ensley, Ala.

A banner promoting an neo-Nazi organization and two swastikas were found painted on an abandoned hospital in a predominantly African American neighborhood in Ensley.

“This white supremacist attempt to intimidate this neighborhood should be condemned and repudiated by elected officials and the wider community of Ensley,” said CAIR Research and Advocacy Director Corey Saylor.

He said CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
