(WASHINGTON D.C., 3/22/2022) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned racist neo-Nazi graffiti spray-painted on sound barriers in Manassas, Va.
Prince William County police say Nazi swastikas were painted on two sound barriers along Prince William Parkway. This was the second incident of this type in Manassas this year.
“Every incident promoting hatred in our nation should be taken seriously and the perpetrators brought to justice,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “We must never allow the normalization of hate, but must instead push back against the rising level of bigotry nationwide.”
He said the American Muslim community and CAIR stand in solidarity with all those challenging anti-Asian and anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
CAIR’s mission is to protect civil rights, enhance understanding of Islam, promote justice, and empower American Muslims.
La misión de CAIR es proteger las libertades civiles, mejorar la comprensión del Islam, promover la justicia, y empoderar a los musulmanes en los Estados Unidos.
