(WASHINGTON D.C., 3/22/2022) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned a racist banner hung in downtown Waukesha, Wis.
The banner, which read “resist Black terror” and included the website of a white supremacist group, was hung off Waukesha’s transit center last week. Witnesses report seeing a group of men dressed in black with their faces covered hanging the banner. Police took the banner down shortly after it was hung.

“With white supremacist activity on the rise nationwide, it is essential that communities in Wisconsin and around the country come together to repudiate hatred and racism,” said CAIR Government Affairs Director Robert McCaw.
He said the American Muslim community and CAIR are standing in solidarity with all those challenging anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, and white supremacy.
