The random phone survey of 1000 Americans, conducted by an independent
research firm, asked questions such as: “When you hear the word ‘Muslim,’
what is the first thought that comes to your mind?” and “Do you feel that
the American Muslim community has been as active as they should be in
condemning acts of terrorism by other Muslims?”
