The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today expressed solidarity with the Sikh community after a Sikh truck driver was stabbed in Wyoming.
A Sikh truck driver said he was followed into a bathroom and stabbed repeatedly in an attack that has stoked fear across the greater South Asian community. The attacker fled after stabbing the man. He remains at the hospital. A suspect has been arrested but police have not disclosed a motive as of yet.

In a statement, Washington, D.C.-based CAIR said:
“We stand in solidarity with the Sikh community and condemn this heinous attack. We urge state and federal law enforcement authorities to determine the motive behind this attack and to bring appropriate charges once a perpetrator is apprehended.”
CAIR and the American Muslim community stand in solidarity with all those challenging antisemitism, systemic anti-Black racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, white supremacy, and all other forms of bigotry.
