CAIR-FL: Tampa Muslims to Offer Hosting for All Migrant Children Separated From Parents

(TAMPA, FL, 6/22/18) – On Friday, June 22, the Islamic Society of Tampa Bay Area (ISTBA), CAIR-Florida, and United Voices for America will hold a news conference to announce a humanitarian program to host all 2300 migrant children separated from their families by President Trump’s border policy until they are reunified with their parents. NOTE: The hosting offer will include transportation costs.

“Trump’s Executive Order does not solve the current crisis because there is no plan to reunite children already separated from their parents. This offer from the Islamic Society of Tampa Bay comes in a timely manner offering real solutions to real problems. Family separation or family camps on military bases are immoral policies that need to immediately cease. Our community is offering a safe and loving environment for minors until they reunite with their parents; this is good and necessary,” said Norma Henning, CAIR-Florida’s Immigration Attorney.
